Two agreements to strengthen emergency nurse training were concluded recently by ISTIH and Nurse Teach Reach with two leading medical institutions in Nepal.
In the first agreement ISTIH and Nurse Teach Reach (NTR) co-signed a Letter of Understanding with Nepal’s Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for the implementation of an introductory Emergency Nurse Training Program.
The first program is scheduled to run for a week this coming September with the possibility of a second two months later in November.
The long term goal of ISTIH and NTR is to provide a series of Continuing Education Programs to Tribhuvan’s nursing staff to continually build on the basic knowledge provided in earlier training sessions.
In the second agreement ISTIH and NTR will support the development of emergency nurse training in BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan. It will commence with a week long program which will involve both training and practical application at the Emergency Department of the Institute. Following an appraisal, and with the approval of all parties, further training can then be developed.
