Adjunct Professor Michael Henderson and Professor Bruce Robinson of the International Skills and Training Institute in Health (ISTIH) have been awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Social Entrepreneur 2011 Western Region, for their vision, passion and success in establishing the Institute through their innovation and leadership.
Michael and Bruce will now compete at national level later in the year in this category and be in the running to become 2011 Entrepreneur Of The Year National Winners.
Adjunct Professor Michael Henderson and Professor Bruce Robinson, together with a network of Michael’s corporate colleagues, founded the International Skills and Training Institute in Health (ISTIH) in 2005.
ISTIH’s primary focus is in the area of emergency and disaster preparedness, as well as maternal and child health, through providing assistance in the development of skills and training resources in developing nations within the Asia Pacific region, with a critical focus on the closer neighbours of Australia.
